Visual and Media Computing is a research group within FIT with 2 main objectives:
- To consolidate the expertise and stimulate activities in areas related to multimedia, computer graphics, image analysis and computer vision.
- To develop collaboration with industry and with other faculties in application areas as well as collaboration with other research groups within FIT to develop new technology for dealing with data of multimedia format.
Within the VMC there are three research themes:
- Games and Simulation Technologies - Content Tools (Leader: Ross Brown)
- Image Retrieval - Content Analysis (Leader: Aster Wardhani)
- Visualisation - Active Views (Leader: Jinglan Zhang)
Meetings are once per month; business meetings in S710, S Block, Gardens Point Campus, seminar meetings in Level 3 Break-out area at Margaret St.
